Co-investment platform on climate information systems developed

May 15, 2024

Between 1970 and 2019, 79% of global disasters were climate-related, causing the majority of deaths and economic losses. Faced with this figure, the UN launched the "Early Warning for All" initiative by 2027, with the goal of protecting everyone through early warning systems. CAF and other partners are supporting this goal in Latin America and the Caribbean through climate information projects and early warning systems.

The Annual CAF Conference will center on security in the Americas

April 23, 2024

Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the OAS, Rebecca BillChavez, President & CEO of the Inter-American Dialogue, and Sergio Díaz-Granados, Executive President of CAF, announced that the upcoming CAF Conference, set for September 5 in Washington DC, will specifically address security issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, a preparatory event is scheduled during the OAS General Assembly from June 26 to 28, 2024, in Paraguay.

CAF promotes the development of Jamaica with its first bond issue

April 17, 2024

The Executive President of CAF, Sergio Diaz-Granados, met with the Minister of Finance and Public Service, Nigel Clarke, as CAF continues to strengthen the partnership with its existing shareholder countries. During the meeting, he highlighted a recent bond issue in Jamaican dollars that is in line with CAF's mission to assist its shareholder countries in the development and deepening of their domestic capital markets and local currencies.
