Energy Efficiency in Buildings

Objective:

Energy-efficient buildings are a cornerstone of prosperous, sustainable and healthy societies. With this course, we want you to take an active interest in energy efficiency in buildings. To achieve this, we will lay out the basics of how buildings use energy, and how we can reduce energy consumption through planning, design, and technology.

Throughout the course, we will explain the benefits of improving the energy efficiency of buildings, and the reasons why buildings are often built without considering the full cost-effectiveness potential needed to achieve efficient energy use.

Then, we will describe the planning, policy, and finance tools with which we can overcome the barriers to energy-efficient buildings.

Methodology:

This course uses numerous practical examples and a didactic style. Additionally, its content and activities are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing flexibility in time and space to consult the material and learn at your own pace based on the calendar of work of each participant.
