University Essay Contest - Ideas for the Future
The “Ideas for the Future” university essay contest aims to capture Latin American youth’s vision for the future (2030) for their countries, including challenges and barriers, and proposals on how to tackle them.
CAF is a development bank established in 1970 with 19 member countries—17 in Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal—and 13 private banks in the region. It promotes a sustainable development model committed to improving the quality of life of all Latin Americans.
As part of the celebrations of its 50th anniversary, CAF—together with several central banks of the region—is promoting the exchange and discussion of ideas that help ensure sustainable development and regional integration. As part of these events, the talented youth in Ibero-American universities are invited to take part in an ideas competition to help build a better future for the region.
There will be awards for best essay at the national and regional level in three categories covered by the competition:
- Integration
- Public policies
- Innovation and productivity.
Regional winners will present their essay as part of the CAF Conference to be held in Quito in November 2019 and will receive USD 2,000 (two thousand United States dollars) each.
