2nd edition of the university essay contest #IdeasForTheFuture
The second edition of our “Ideas for the Future” essay contest aims to capture the vision of young university students for addressing the development challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean.
CAF -development bank of Latin America- with the support of the region's central banks, we once again invite our young university students to help build a better future for Ibero-American countries by sharing their ideas in this essay competition.
This year's theme is the development challenges for Latin America and the Caribbean, such as:
- How can we prepare our countries to face and recover more quickly in the face of social, economic or health crises?
- How can Latin American and Caribbean countries avoid falling into the middle income trap?
- How can we balance the social agenda with economic stability?
- How do we establish effective mechanisms for the expression of social discontent?
- Which are the most urgent areas to accelerate Latin America's development?
- How can we make Latin American SMEs more competitive and offer higher quality employment?
The top three essays at Ibero-American level will be awarded a prize of USD 3,000 for first place, USD 2,000 for second place, and USD 1,000 for third place. These authors will present their essays at the CAF Conference to be held in Mexico City in November 2020. In addition to the three winning essays at a regional level, a prize will be awarded for the best essay submitted in each country.
