Environmental issues: their political economic and human dimensions
The workshop will seek to study and analyze different ways to create audiovisual reports on environmental issues from different dimensions. Managed by Phil Bennett, master of the Gabriel García Márquez Foundation for New Journalism
Research methods, narrative techniques, script writing, editorial oversight and control, and how to confront the pressures of economic and political powers in environmental reports will be discussed on the workshop.
We will also discuss how to incorporate science and scientific models in journalism covering environmental issues, so that it can be easily understood for a general audience. Activity will reflect on the current challenges faced by news programs open and closed television address new digital platforms and opportunities generated by the growth of independent social networks.
