2019 Latin American Telecommunications Convention
The 7th Latin American Telecommunications Convention will gather the biggest names in the ICT field July 1 through 5 in Córdoba, Argentina, hosted by the Government Modernization Secretariat.
In the midst of a rising acceleration of technological advances, including 5G, artificial intelligence and Big Data, comesthe 7th edition of the Latin American Telecommunications Convention (CLT19), the regional forum for the discussion of public policies on the digital ecosystem. Under the banner "Accelerating Latin America’s Digital Transformation”, the meeting will address a variety of regulatory approaches and frameworks of action that allow the region to incorporate technology into production processes to embark on the fourth industrial revolution.
As usual, the event’s Plenary Session, will feature a series of discussion panels by an assortment of top speakers, including ministers, regulatory authorities and service provider executives, as well as device manufacturers and internetcompanies. The program will include topics such as the impact of the arrival of 5G, the future of work in the face of digitization and the need for pro-investment agendas in the region. In addition, panelists will analyze innovation as a tool for closing the digital divide and the urgency of promoting gender equity in the use of ICTs.
The importance of spectrum for the digitization processes of economies will be another central theme of the event. The World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19) will take place in 2019, with the new radio frequency band allotments for 5G as its main topic. In preparation for this important milestone for the digital environment, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will conductthe "Spectrum Management on the Way to WRC-19" forum.
CLT19 is hosted by Argentina’s Modernization Secretariat and is a joint effort by ITU, CAF–Development Bank of Latin America, the Inter-American Association of Telecommunications Companies (ASIET) and the GSMA. The event is supported by the Government of Córdoba and ENACOM, together with organizations such as COMTELCA, Regulatel, CEPAL-eLAC, ICANN, Internet Society and LACNIC.
The event will take place July 1 through 5 at the Brigadier General Juan Bautista Bustos Convention Center in Córdoba, Argentina.
