COVID-19 Monitoring and Early Warning
CAF is inviting interested parties to participate in this forum organized in collaboration with the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITERD) in support of the activities carried out by CODIA—Conference of Ibero-American Water Directors
The COVID-19 pandemic has altered daily activities worldwide, with multiple impacts on human lives and colossal economic damage. The detection of the virus in wastewater was developed recently and has proven effective, with high potential for the early detection of sources of contagion or new possible outbreaks. Spain and Brazil are part of the select group of countries developing these monitoring activities, and their experience will be a vital input for other Latin American countries.
Therefore, CAF—development bank of Latin America—is organizing a forum in collaboration with the Ministry for Ecological Transition and demographic challenge (MITERD) in support of the activities carried out by CODIA —Conference of Ibero-American Water Directors. The forum will be an opportunity to:
- share experiences on wastewater monitoring for COVID-19 detection in both Spain and Brazil;
- address the importance of inter-agency coordination between public and private stakeholders;
- show the progress made in certain countries in the region in monitoring and early warning.
The forum will be broadcast on this website
