Graphic miniatures fill spaces in CAF Gallery

  • In homage to the artist Luisa Palacios, the XI Graphic Miniatures Biennial will be held in the CAF headquarters from November 4.
  • The graphic miniature, a singular work of art, will once again fill the spaces of the CAF Gallery on the occasion of the XI Luisa Palacios Graphic Miniatures Biennial which will be exhibited in the multilateral financial institution from November 4.

The gathering of the works of over 100 artists from countries around the world, including Taiwan, Europe and Latin America, is a reaffirmation of the CAF mission with a view to promoting the integration and development of peoples, contributing to the dissemination of the cultural diversity of all continents.

The biennial is organized by the Taller de Artistas Gráficos Asociados Luisa Palacios ((TAGA - Luisa Palacios Associated Graphic Artists Workshop) which on this occasion pays homage to this founding artist of the workshop, who for over 30 years devoted her life to creation with ink, filling her graphic work with her stimulus and tenacity.

The XI Biennial presents over 160 works of artists who, through their creations, will share a common space enhancing the value of this art form where the testimony of each impression speaks for itself. The show also offers a glimpse of the interesting work of embossing, engraving and printing.

During her long artistic career, Luisa Palacios received many awards for her work, including First Prize from the Department of Culture of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) in 1961; National Drawing and Engraving Prize from the Official Room of the Fine Arts Museum, Caracas in 1963. The same year she received the Fundación Eugenio Mendoza Prize. In 1994 she was awarded First Prize from the UCV Department of Culture, and the Emilio Boggie Prize, Arturo Michelena Room, Valencia, Carabobo state. In 1967 she was honored with the Prize of the UCV Latin American Exhibition of Drawing and Engraving.
