Seminar Strengthening Disasters Anticipation and Response in Latin America and the Caribbean

CAF –development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean– invites you to join the Seminar on Strengthening Anticipation and Response to Disasters in Latin America and the Caribbean virtually. This event aims to highlight the importance of increasing collaboration and coordination on processes, data, and appropriate tools to enhance disaster preparedness and response capacities in the region.

Event date:

March 24, 2025

Online

The emergency response phase is when the forecasts and coordination outlined in various emergency plans come into play. It is the moment when authorities must make the most appropriate and timely decisions to safeguard human lives, protect the environment, infrastructure, and the operation of essential services. However, achieving this relies on having the most accurate and comprehensive information about the situation, utilizing available capacities and resources to support the affected area, and maintaining communication with all necessary and deployed entities.

One of the most pressing and cross-cutting challenges for authorities today is having the right management tools that integrate information sources and enable real-time assessment and coordination of strategic capacities and resources, early warning systems (EWS), and first response teams.
