Transboundary Impacts and Water Security in Guarani Aquifer System Management
November 29, 2021
CAF invites you to the third webinar in the “Environmental challenges in the Plata Basin” series, a space to update information on the environmental situation in the Río de la Plata Basin, exchange approaches with experts and share contributions for current and future projects.
This meeting will take place just as the Guaraní Aquifer Strategic Action Program (PEA Guaraní) is being implemented in the four countries where this body of water is located: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. The project is co-financed by the GEF and will last for four years.
Accordingly, the Guarani Aquifer System sustainable management challenges will be addressed, and information on the environmental situation in the Río de la Plata Basin will be updated.
In particular, it will aim to answer questions such as the following (among others): What measures should the countries agree to advance in the sustainable management of the SAG? What role does the Guarani Agreement (which came into force in November 2020) play?, What potential plans can we propose together? What resources should be applied?
