CAF and Georgetown University promote research and academic cooperation

Through the Georgetown Americas Institute, CAF Development Bank of Latin America and Georgetown University signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation between both institutions. Among the activities included in the agreement, exchange of publications and research as well as development of academic events are particularly notable.
CAF and Georgetown University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the aim of promoting and facilitating cooperation in research and academic events. Through this document, both parties commit to working together and exploring meaningful forms of collaboration, including the exchange of materials, publications and academic information along with meetings and work events, among other activities.
“The creation and exchange of knowledge about critical development factors for Latin America are part of CAF’s mandate and our links with think tanks and universities allow us to deepen our commitment to quality education and the training of future professionals in the region,” said Diaz-Granados after the signing.
“One fundamental aspect of the Georgetown Americas Institute (GAI) mission is exchanging knowledge with other institutions in the region to improve public policies in their countries,” said Alejandro Werner, director of GAI. “CAF will be a great ally for Georgetown University in Latin America and the Caribbean,” he concluded.
The Georgetown Americas Institute is a platform for dialogue, research and impact centered around the biggest challenges facing Latin America and the hemisphere. The main thematic areas of interest for the institute are governance and the rule of law, economic development and innovation, social and cultural inclusion, and environment and sustainability.
