CAF Supports the Advent of URUCAP
October 12, 2022
CAF will be one of the founding members of URUCAP, the Uruguayan Private Capital Association, which brings together private equity, venture and seed capital firms, as well as accelerators and incubators, among other key stakeholders for the financing of disruptive ventures in the nation.
The purpose of CAF’s accession is promoting integration and development of the private equity industry, contributing to the investment and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Uruguay and enhancing investor opportunities by creating a positive impact on the economy and jobs in the nation.
The first steps that URUCAP will take include linking up the main stakeholders and organizing information about Uruguay’s investment ecosystem as an access point for ventures in search of capital, while also attracting foreign investors to the nation. There will also be networking and investor-match activities in the short term, encouraging co-investment, promoting actions to create an investment-friendly environment, producing reports, information and analysis of the local, regional and global investment market.
In turn, URUCAP will be the Uruguayan voice in the Latin American Private Equity Associations Community, which includes countries such as Argentina (Arcap), Brazil (Abvcap), Peru (Pecap), Paraguay (Parcapy) and Colombia (ColCapital), among others.
