The executive president of CAF—development bank of Latin America—, Sergio Díaz-Granados, and the Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, Kurt Burneo, held a working meeting to coordinate their respective agendas with a view to strengthening CAF's presence in Peru, one of its founding countries.
Minister Burneo highlighted the importance for Peru of CAF’s action through programs that aim to build management capacities, as well as investment in strategic programs for sustainable development. He also stressed the need for the funds obtained through CAF to reach sufficient capillarity to benefit the population as much as possible.
Furthermore, CAF0s executive president highlighted the importance of Peru for the development bank of Latin America and commented on the main work pillars in the country for the promotion of investment projects and programs with high environmental impact in areas such as education, irrigation, infrastructure and digitalization, among others.
It should be noted that Peru, in addition to holding the presidency of the Andean Community and the Pacific Alliance, will take the chairmanship of CAF’s Board of Directors as of April 2023. This will be a great opportunity for Peruvian authorities to foster strategic issues in favor of regional integration.
