CAF Donates USD 200,000 in Disaster Relief to Trinidad and Tobago

CAF -Development Bank of Latin America- will donate donate USD 200,000 as a demonstration of unwavering solidarity with the people of Trinidad and Tobago who are at this time facing significant damage and loss due to the effects of floods and landslides.
This offer of humanitarian support came on November 29th, 2022, from the President of CAF, Sergio Diaz-Granados, who recently visited Trinidad and Tobago to launch the opening of CAF’s Caribbean hub.
"I want to express our solidarity with the people of Trinidad and Tobago that are facing the devastating effects of the floods and landslides, which have caused significant human and material damages. In this situation, CAF offers its support to contribute to the emergency humanitarian aid efforts", said Sergio Díaz-Granados.
Mr Colm Imbert said in a public statement that “On behalf of the affected citizens, we thank CAF for its consistent offers of financial support for Trinidad and Tobago in times of need”.
CAF has also indicated its readiness to offer financing for rehabilitation or reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
