USMA and CAF to Train New Leaders in Panama
April 17, 2023
Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua (USMA) and CAF—development bank of Latin America—signed an agreement to launch the “Leadership for Transformation 2.0” program, which will offer specialized training and capacity building to leaders in Panama, with a focus on the development of their soft skills.
With this six-month program, participants will hone their “soft skills” and reinforce human, sensitive and responsible leadership, which will help them focus their action on bridging gaps and addressing inequalities of the neediest groups. Similarly, capacity building will be promoted under the focus of multiple intelligences with the cross-cutting and fundamental issues in CAF’s agenda. This will enable students to realize their vocation as leaders and effectively impact the betterment of their communities.
“This agreement reinforces the relationship we maintain to advance new projects and initiatives together, which contribute to the social development of the nation and the training of regional leaders,” said USMA rector Francisco Blanco Lopezuazo.
Furthermore, CAF representative in Panama Lucia Meza said that this training seeks to empower leaders—men and women—with current tools that reinforce their country vision and democratic values, as a way to help them practice their leadership with responsibility and knowledge, with international best practices that enhance their contributions to the nation’s development.
The agreement includes coordination of activities related to the transfer and transformation of knowledge, in a hybrid mode, for the development of the “Leadership for Transformation 2.0” program, allowing a smooth exchange with the participants of the program in Panama. Interested parties can enroll here. Classes of this Program are scheduled to begin in June.
