CAF donates USD 250,000 to Honduras to deal with the effects of the hospital fire in Roatán

CAF -Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean-, approved an immediate donation of US$250,000 to Honduras to help address the effects of the fire that has consumed the public hospital on the Caribbean island of Roatán, providing support to facilitate the continuity of the services that have been affected.

Through a letter addressed to the President of the Republic of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, the Executive President of CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, Sergio Díaz-Granados, expressed the Institution's solidarity with the victims of the loss of the Roatán Hospital due to a fire and communicated the immediate delivery of a donation of USD 250,000 to the country, destined for humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of the affected infrastructure.
"I wish to express our solidarity with the Honduran people and our appreciation for the actions of the National Government to support the victims, as well as for the efforts to ensure the continuity of medical services to the local population," said Sergio Diaz-Granados.
CAF expects to contribute with this contribution to the humanitarian aid efforts to solve this emergency, through the governmental channels considered by the Honduran government. The multilateral financial institution reiterates its commitment as a strategic ally for the development of its member countries.
