A week to strengthen the cultural ties of Spain and Latin America and the Caribbean

The histories of Spain and Latin America and the Caribbean are intertwined; They travel through shared memories of streets and buildings, languages ​​and forms of expression, rhythms, food, culture and sense of belonging. With the aim of delving into these links, CAF is organizing its Conference in Europe on July 9 in Seville, which will feature the participation of Carlos Vives and will be a great opportunity to create synergies in the cultural and creative industries on both sides of the Atlantic.

A week to strengthen ties between Spain and Latin America

CAF - development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean - will bring together experts, leaders and high-level international and Spanish government authorizations in Seville to promote the culture, creativity and territorial innovation of two regions with strong historical ties and great potential to generate new alliances to face the challenges of global development.

The CAF Conference in Europe will address the importance of taking advantage of the cultural and creative wealth of cities to promote tourism as an engine for economic and social development, and will analyze how culture and creativity can influence greater social inclusion and more societies. harmonious, integrated and cohesive. The event will also discuss CAF's Cultural and Creative Economies Strategy, which seeks to preserve and promote local identity, cultural diversity and heritage infrastructure to encourage economic growth and human development.  

Within the framework of the Conference, CAF will present, on July 8 in Madrid, the Economy and Development Report (RED 2024), which highlights the need to carry out a fair energy transition with a view from Latin America and the Caribbean, recognizing the specific realities of each country and the need to address historical development lags.

In addition, CAF will sign agreements with Spanish entities to promote sports, opportunities for young people, regional integration and financial inclusion.

With these activities, CAF seeks to generate conversations, understand how the two regions are facing the challenges of global development and find new ways to do so.
