CAF donates USD 250,000 to support those affected by the devastating rains in El Salvador

CAF has approved an immediate donation of USD 250,000 to El Salvador to help address the effects of the rains that have caused significant human losses, displaced thousands, and resulted in extensive material damage.
CAF -development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean has approved an immediate donation of USD 250,000 to El Salvador to help address the effects of the rains that have caused significant human losses, displaced thousands, and resulted in extensive material damage in the country.
In a letter to the President of the Republic of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, CAF’s executive president, Sergio Díaz-Granados, expressed the institution’s solidarity with those affected by the devastating rains and announced the immediate donation of USD 250,000 for humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
"I want to express our deepest solidarity with the Salvadoran people and acknowledge the actions taken by the Government to support those affected, as well as the resilience of the population and the collective actions of society in response to this situation", said Sergio Díaz-Granados.
CAF hopes that this contribution will support humanitarian aid efforts to address this emergency through the appropriate government channels that the Salvadoran government deems fit. The multilateral financial institution reiterates its commitment as a strategic ally for the development of its member countries.
