Agreement with CARI on the international participation of Latin America

  • CAF and the Argentine Council for International Relations sign agreement to promote dialogue and debate on public policy, exchange of information and cooperation, through dissemination of development issues.

(Buenos Aires, February 24, 2010).- CAF President & CEO Enrique García, and the head of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI), Adalberto Rodríguez Giavarini, signed in Buenos Aires a framework agreement for close collaboration on issues of common interest, especially in relation to the international participation of Latin America, regional integration and sustainable development.

The agreement aims to develop synergies with other actors in the national, regional and international spheres in an effort to foster dialogue and debate on public policies, exchange of information and cooperation and dissemination of knowledge on development-related issues, including holding conferences on international, economic, political and social issues.

At the signing García emphasized the importance of the agreement. "This initiative is part of a broader CAF strategy whose objective is to form alliances with prestigious Latin American and international organizations working in the area of analysis, research and debate on core issues for the development agenda of Latin America and the Caribbean."

CARI President Adalberto Rodríguez Giavarini said, "the Argentine Council for International Relations is an academic body which for over 30 years has been at the service of regional integration, one of the country’s permanent state policies."
