Andamiajes permeates the CAF Artespacio in Bolivia with intimacy

December 15, 2009

(La Paz, December 15, 2009).- The Artespacio CAF cultural space is hosting the collective art show Andamiajes whose main characteristic is that it reflects the most profound aspects of eight recognized well known Bolivian artists who by putting their sketch notebooks on show reveal their initial ideas, sketches and even “doodles” before creating a work of art.

The artists Alejandro Archondo, Erika Ewel, Keiko González, Alfredo La Placa, Rodrigo Rada, Graciela Rodo Boulanger, and Alejandro Salazar expose their intimate thoughts by exhibiting their workbooks and notes, opening themselves and revealing to the public the preliminary ideas behind many of their best known works.

For the celebrated Bolivian painter Alfredo La Placa, Andamiajes is an exhibition in which the finished works take second place. “It is quite unique because artists do not usually exhibit the initial stage of their creations. This particular show could only take place in the CAF Artespacio, whose structure creates an environment which captures the intimacy.”
