Andean Association of Productivity and Quality Consultants formed in Caracas.

(Caracas, May 22, 1991).- To exchange information, experiences and specialized documentation on the area, a group of experts from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela formed the Andean Association of Productivity and Quality Consultants meeting in Caracas.

The grouping will link professionals, business executives and the general public interested in processes of quality and productivity, and establish contacts with institutions and international teaching centers. The new organization will facilitate exchange of information, experiences and training opportunities, so necessary in the process of industrial conversion and modernization of their productive base which the member countries of the Andean Group are now implementing in their economies.

The association was formed at the end of the third five-week Training Course for Subregional Productivity and Quality Consultants held in Caracas which ended May 17. The course was part of the CAF Productivity and Quality Program, whose aim is to strengthen the industrial sector of its member countries by making it more efficient and competitive through increases in the productivity levels of existing companies.

The leaders of this new integration body are Freddy Rodriguez of Venezuela; Jaime Montilla of Colombia; Fernando Almeida of Ecuador; and Oscar Aguilar of Bolivia.
