(Caracas, March 19, 2009).- Celebrating its 12th anniversary the CAF Gallery, in conjunction with the Carlos Cárdenas Sports Foundation and the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, today opened the From base to base exhibition, which puts a very extensive set of exhibits from the museum in the city of Valencia on view for the people of Caracas.

The show was organized thanks to the joint effort of the Corporation and the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Baseball is the best known and most popular sport in Venezuelan history. The exhibition coincides with the recent triumph of the national team in the Caribbean Series in Mexico and the holding of the World Baseball Classic.

Botero said, “the idea of the information and objects exhibited is to focus on the spirit of teamwork, indispensable characteristic for achieving success in sports or any other human activity.” “This exhibition invisibly but very emotively connects us with a sport which is part of the very soul of the fans who follow the career of the players who are, have been, and will continue to be heroes for future generations, honored in the Hall of Fame, the main objective of the creation of the museum.”

Hilda Cárdenas of the Carlos Cárdenas Sports Foundation and the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum said, “we are pleased and honored to exhibit part of the Museum’s collection in Caracas. The joint effort with CAF reflects the fact that both institutions have the same fundamental objectives, which is to open paths for social integration.”
