More of Magical Mystery Band
Magical Mystery Band emerged from two young people’s need to experiment with the musical legacy of one of the most important and talented groups in the history of contemporary music: The Beatles.
Created by Leonor Falcón (violin and leader) and Angélica Guevara (cello), students of the Emil Friedman College, the concept of Magical Mystery Band was later enriched by talented musicians who were lovers of the legendary English group, such as Biella Da Costa (lead singer), Alexander González (viola), Guillermo González (guitar), Carlos Uzcátegui (keyboard), Manuel Montáñez (drums) and Juan Manuel Guevara (bass). Their instrumental support has given the musical arrangements a variety of subtleties rarely imagined or heard by followers and critics of the Beatles sound.
In only two years since they were formed, this professional group has given concerts in well-known venues in Caracas and the provinces: the Emil Friedman College auditorium; Ríos Reyna Room of the Teresa Carreño Theater at the Caracas Jazz Festival; Sala Corp Banca during the Jazz in the Center event; Colonial Art Museum Quinta Anauco; Dimitrus Demu Museum in Puerto La Cruz, and in the Hotel Intercontinental del Lago in Maracaibo, among others.
In 2004, the band traveled to Buenos Aires to compete in the fourth Latin American Beatles Week (www.thecavernclub.com.ar) where every year two Latin American groups are selected to take part in the annual Beatle Week Festival in Liverpool, England. Magical Mystery Band was selected and will perform at the Festival in August 2005 in representation of Latin America. Congratulations!
