Bilateral agreement will promote knowledge management in the region

CAF and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding to promote programs and projects that help explore strategies for social and economic development.

(Caracas, February 6th, 2014).In order to facilitate cooperation and promote knowledge exchange programs and projects through publications and interregional activities that help explore strategies for the social and economic development of the region, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) formalized a Memorandum of Understanding.

The agreement seeks to promote cooperation in capacity building initiatives, policy and academic research, seminars, and workshops, with the purpose of promoting institutional capacities as well as trade, investment, and the development of Latin America and Asia.  

In a visit to CAF's Headquarters in Caracas, Ki-Su Kwon, head of the Department of the Americas and representative of the delegation of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, met with representatives of different areas of the multilateral institutions.            

The KIEP was founded in 1990 as an Economic Research Institute financed by the Government of Korea, to which it provides advice in matters regarding international economic policy. In addition, it carries out research at the request of external institutions and organizations in all the areas of the Korean and world economy.
