CAF and Resilient Cities Network to Exchange Views on Latin American Recovery

As part of the sessions organized by CAF—development bank of Latin America—and the Resilient Cities Network (RCR), CAF’s Cities with a Future Coordinator Pablo López and RCR director Eugene Zapata will participate in a discussion in #LAConversa, a forum created by the knowledge management center for Latin American cities LA Network.

December 02, 2020

On Thursday, December 3, at 4:00 p.m. Argentina time, Pablo López and Eugene D. Zapata Garesché will discuss via Facebook Live in #LAConversa different issues that can strengthen urban resilience. The meeting will be moderated by LA Network co-founder Luz Monica Pérez Ayala.

These sessions are part of CAF’s Urban Solutions action plan and aim to find and share solutions for cities in the region, disseminating and exchanging knowledge and best practices between municipalities and key stakeholders in the regional urban ecosystem, aimed at mitigating or controlling the effects of the pandemic.

The Resilient Cities Network is an entity devoted to the adoption and promotion of a resilience-based vision of member cities. It brings together global knowledge, practices, partnerships and funding to empower its members to build safe and equitable cities for all.

The conversation is part of the actions of the Cities with a Future initiative, which aims to help design and implement urban interventions that have a direct effect on improving inclusion and productivity of Latin American cities.

Reducing social exclusion, better planning, increasing productivity, improving urban resilience and providing good public services are the challenges facing cities in the region in the coming decades, and addressing them efficiently requires public authorities to work together to promote an urban agenda that places the community as the key player and that incorporates the transport, housing, employment, transport, infrastructure and environment sectors.
