CAF and the FiiDEM Alliance will work together for the development of Mexico

CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the Alianza para la Formación e Investigación en Infraestructura para el Desarrollo de México (FiiDEM) (Alliance for training and research in Infrastructure for the development of Mexico) sign a collaboration agreement that includes the promotion of public policies to improve Mexico's infrastructures

With this agreement, the two organizations commit to develop technical assistance programs, scientific research, and technological innovation, as well as promote sustainable development, especially through the design of public policies regarding infrastructure (water, energy, and transportation). 

The alliance involves the collaboration of the government, private companies, higher education institutions, and professional associations, and will also focus on training and updating specialists, scientific research, technological development, and management of knowledge.  

The agreement includes the following objectives: 

a)       Define the studies to be carried out to define the best use for the land that will be available as a result of the move of the current International Airport of Mexico City. 

b)       Propose, study, and develop regulations, norms, and in general, all types of technical specifications, directly or in collaboration with others. 

c)       Promote and propose research programs, technological development, and innovation in the spheres of action of CAF and of the FiiDEM Alliance. 

d)       Provide specialized technical assistance to CAF or any other institution financed by CAF. 

e)       Promote and update the training and technical and scientific knowledge of CAF's staff, of the Public Administrations of CAF's member countries, and the organizations that are part of the Fiidem Alliance, through courses integrated to the technical training processes and the continuous technical/professional training in the areas of social development, financial inclusion, and long-term public policies that stimulate productivity. 

f)         Organization of fora, seminars, and technical meetings at a national and regional level. 

g)       Dissemination and publication of the information resulting from the Agreement.  

 The FiiDEM Alliance is a non-profit Mexican civil association. Among its objectives it seeks to connect governmental entities, companies, higher education institutions, and professional associations to innovate and strengthen the capacities of the infrastructure sector for the development of Mexico.  

With this alliance, CAF reinforces its support to the institutional development of its member countries through programs, projects, and meetings that promote transformation and productive diversification, promote entrepreneurship, and innovation.
