CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Institute of the Americas (IOA) signed today an agreement to support projects that accelerate the energy transition and decarbonization, sustainable mobility, regional integration, the fight against climate change, sustainable urban development, trade and economic inclusion.
The agreement contemplates the exchange of knowledge between both institutions. Additionally, CAF and IOA will jointly develop research and publications, training courses, conferences, events, seminars and meetings, including a unique session and series of site and field visits during the Cities Summit of the
Americas.
“This agreement with the IOA will help create new bridges of cooperation between Latin America and the Caribbean and the United States, which will provide our countries with more tools to face the great global challenges of the coming decades, such as climate change, migration, urban development, energy transition and social inclusion”, said Sergio Díaz-Granados, executive president of CAF.
“IOA looks forward to working more closely with CAF to address emerging issues and challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean focused on energy transition, climate action, economic competitiveness, workforce development, and environmental protection. With this new agreement, the IOA will further leverage its strategic location in California and proximity to technology-focused innovation hubs to promote greater cross-border knowledge sharing, professional networking, and investment to expand economic opportunities, enhance quality of life and ensure greater protection of biodiversity for communities in the Americas,” said Richard Kiy, executive president of the IOA.
