The situation caused by COVID-19, declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), has plunged Paraguay into an emergency situation. In this context, CAF and UNDP joined forces and resources to enhance the response capacity of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPyBS), with the donation of key supplies to address the emergency as efficiently as possible.

Supplies delivered to the ministry also include 2 translucent six-motion hospital beds for Intensive Therapy Units, 10 two-motion manual beds, with enamel side rails, as well as other equipment:

- 4 5-motion

motorized beds,

- 16 waterproof hospital mattresses.

- 800 boxes of 100 units of latex gloves, in assorted sizes.

- 20 multi-purpose monitors.

The funds donated by CAF through the support program to shareholder countries in the face of the emergency caused by COVID-19, for a total of USD 400,000, will be used with the supervision and as part of UNDP processes.

Thus, both institutions offer their best efforts to the government and people of Paraguay, working together to curb the pandemic, based on an unwavering commitment to expediting and ensuring transparency of processes.

In compliance with recommendations of authorities, both entities joined the #StayAtHome campaign, and thus, the ceremony was held remotely.
