CAF building in Bolivia, first in the country to receive LEED certification

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary certification system for sustainable buildings, developed by the US Green Building Council, which is based on norms and strategies aimed at sustainability in new and existing buildings (Existing Building Operations & Maintenance, EBOM).

Among the building's characteristics, the following stand out: solar panels that generate renewable energy for self-consumption, and innovation in operations and maintenance or efficiency in water consumption. 

There are currently 7,986 LEED EBOM certification projects at a global level, but only 3,774 are certified. In Latin America, there are 138 projects; 64 are certified and 15 achieved the Gold level, which is the level achieved by CAF's building in Bolivia. 

This award is framed in CAF's mission to promote sustainability and alternative energies in the region.
