The Peruvian minister of Economy and Finance, Javier Silva Ruete, accompanied by the president of the Andean Development Corporation, Enrique García, announced that CAF will soon approve a multi-sector loan for US$300 million. With a previous loan of US$250 million approved in December last year and other projects in execution, drawdowns in the first half of this year will total US$600 million.

Enrique García said the loans are to support the process of democratic transition in a framework of macroeconomic stability.

Minister Silva Ruete said Peru would obtain significant benefits from the new CAF credit, enabling the release of a large volume of public funds for other State obligations.
