CAF annual conference with focus on SMEs and the technology acceleration of Latin America and the Caribbean

Accelerated digital transformation in a context of uncertainty calls for incorporating modern technologies to create business models that can adapt to new scenarios. Therefore, in an effort to understand and bring all these ideas into the mix, CAF is opening a forum for dialogue on November 5–6, involving public, private and academic institutions that can help chart the roadmap of Latin American SMEs towards the digital ecosystem.

In order to provide a broad overview of the context, challenges and opportunities of small and medium-sized enterprises in Latin America, as well as the impact of digital transformation on building the region’s new economy, CAF—development bank of Latin America—is holding its annual conference entitled “The New Economy and the Future of Latin American SMEs” on November 5–6.

This space for dialogue will bring together leaders in various industrial, economic and governmental sectors, who will exchange their views and projects on SMEs and their adaptation to the technological age, which was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The keynote address will be delivered by CAF executive president Luis Carranza Ugarte, followed by Mexico’s Undersecretary of Finance Gabriel Yorio González. The two-day conference will feature presentations focused on topics such as crisis and economic revival, new business models, acceleration in digital transformation for small and medium-sized businesses, trends in global value chains, and a debate about the public policies necessary to boost companies in the current reality.
