CAFpresides Group of Parners for Development in Bolivia

CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, through its Director Representative in the country, Emilio Uquillas, assumed the presidency of the Group of Partners for the Development of Bolivia (GruS), a space for coordination among bilateral, inter-governmental, and multilateral organizations that operate under the leadership of the national government. 

The leadership is completed by Jens Busma, advisor and cooperation chief of the Embassy of Germany, and Alberto Palacios-Hardy, advisor and cooperation chief of the Canadian embassy, as an outgoing member. 

For six months, management was in charge of Palacios-Hardy who, at the time of delivering the responsibility to CAF, stated that there are great challenges to strengthen this instance and achieve a positive coordination between cooperation organizations, the central government, sub-national governments, the private sector, and the Bolivian population.   

The GruS was created in 2006, with the objective of supporting the implementation of the agreements aimed at coordinating and aligning international help to the priorities of the country, and it works in synergy with the Government of Bolivia. 

This space is made up by Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Korea, Denmark, Spain, United States, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Norway, The Netherlands, Switzerland, and Sweden, in addition to representations from the World Bank, IDB, CAF, IMF, United Nations, OAS, and the European Union.
