CAF publishes A bordo la Mirada

(Caracas, November 16, 2000).- With CAF sponsorship and under the SOS publishing seal, Alfredo Camejo publishes his poetic writings A bordo la mirada. The author, who has published four previous books: Acta de Confines (Ediciones Oxígeno 1983), Precipicio Antagónico (Ediciones Oxígeno 1986), Anatomía sin Enmiendas (Fondo Editorial Pequeña Venecia 1991), and Enfasis de la Intemperie (Fondo Editorial Tropykos 1993), offers us in this volume, with prologue by Rafael Castillo Zapata, a particular view of the environment defined by geometries coded with signs where what we call reality is conceived as a dimension of imagery.

These poems, Castillo Zapata says, appear "distanced and ironic, wisely incredulous, articulated from a reflexive look which scrutinizes the immensity of the lived. This interrogating look confronts the observer to acclimatize in it temporary enclosed spaces - not for nothing Camejo is an architect - in which the observer is installed with a humanly minimal practicable certainty." This vocation interweaves the human in the form and vice versa in a species of momentary pact.

"With brief and precise strokes, Camejo has been designing small portraits and landscapes which together with the sensations and reflections permit him to establish an existential drift, always finding a focal point of the human horizon." And Castillo Zapata continues, "working in short a territory of commemoration of the lived, the contemplative, the felt."

In cooperating with publication of the joint edition, CAF reaffirms its interest in giving space to the expressions which every day quietly express the feeling of our language, and demonstrates its uncompromising participation in the dissemination of artistic expressions, which embrace the spectrum of the region.

Punto sin medida Sin damos cuenta avanzamos, no obstante pensamos que no ha valido la pena tal adelanto pues, alcanzar un final ha supuesto también un comienzo y entre ambos se hace inevitable una contrariedad que, en este caso, puede oponer el acto físico al acto emocional con una magnitud que cope toda la extensión del cuerpo, impidiéndole continuar más adelante. Entonces, nos decidimos por el punto, sitio predilecto sin dimensión precisa para poder seguir existiendo aunque sea por un instante. Alfredo Camejo
