As an organization committed to promoting competitiveness as a valuable means of achieving more reliable and efficient markets, CAF is an active promoter of the application of good corporate governance practices. The implementation of these procedures can result, for example, in reduction of the costs of access to capital resources, decrease in conflicts between partners, more efficient use of their resources, and a better business reputation.
The CAF Corporate Governance projects cover four activities: a) measurement of the corporate governance practices of companies in the Andean region; b) production of software to enable companies to evaluate their level of corporate governance; c) training and information workshops; and d) implementation of good corporate governance practices in 10 pilot companies with Copeinca.COPEINCA now joins Graña & Montero, the first company to receive CAF support to implement good corporate governance practices, which obtained very satisfactory results.
