The course, which will take place between July 21st and 25th at the headquarters of the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals(IBEI), includes conferences and debate tables regarding issues such as international development, the internet of the future, new technologies and its regulations, smart cities, and new financing mechanisms for broad band and the infrastructures of internet interconnection.
The courses include the reports of Alexandre Barbosa, Research Director at the Research Center for ICT (CETIC, for its Spanish acronym) in Brazil, Mauricio Agudelo, ICT Specialist at CAF, Latin American Development Bank, Raul Katz, International Expert in ICT and CAF Consultant, Natalija Gelvanovska, World Bank ICT Policy Specialist, Antonio Garcia Zaballos, IE Business School Professor and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Specialist, and Mario Cimoli, Director of the Productive and Entrepreneurial Development Division at ECLAC, among others (see program here).
The summer school is aimed at ICT policy experts from public administrations, multilateral organizations, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, foundations, companies, and universities interested in the role of creative innovation for development.
This activity is organized by IBEI, and the United Nation's Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), in collaboration with CAF.
