Ecuadorian gas plant receives loan

May 29, 1992

(Caracas, May 29, 1992).- CAF today granted a loan for US$7,820,000 to PETROECUADOR to optimize the Shushufindi plant, located in Sucumbios province in northeast Ecuador.

The expansion of the plant will raise production from 42,000 to 158,000 metric tons annually of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which will substantially cut imports, with a consequent saving of foreign currency for the country, as well as meeting domestic demand.

The agreement was signed in CAF headquarters in Caracas by CAF President & CEO Enrique García, and the Ecuadorian ambassador in Venezuela Ximena Martínez de Pérez.
