Emerging Market Forum 2012

Leaders from more than 30 countries in Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America gathered in Japan.

(Chiba, October 2012).- Over one hundred top government officials and business leaders recently gathered at the Emerging Market Forum in Chiba, Japan.

The event serves as a venue for leaders from more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America to share their points of view on pressing issues linked to the new balance in the global economy, the implications of a slowdown in the global economy for emerging markets, the global public agenda by 2015 and an overhaul to the global financial architecture.

The Forum was co-chaired by Enrique García, executive president of CAF–development bank of Latin America; Fidel Ramos, former president of the Republic of the Philippines; Michel Camdessus, honorary governor of the Bank of France and former managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF); Horst Koehler, former president of the Federal Republic of Germany; and Haruhiko Kuroda, president of the Asian Development Bank. The event was hosted by Hiroshi Watanabe, CEO and president of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).
