Enrique Garcia receives the Americas Society Gold Medal

The award acknowledges contributions to the business world, commitment to social and environmental responsibility, and active participation in art and education initiatives in the Americas.

In the framework of the Americas Society 34th Annual Party, its President emeritus, William R. Rhodes, gave the Gold Medal to Enrique Garcia, Executive President of CAF, Development Bank of Latin America. The event included the assistance of over 550 world leaders from public and private spheres, as well as philanthropists, diplomats, and artists. 

The Gold Medal, granted for the first time in 1977, is the highest honor granted by the Americas Society. It acknowledges contributions made to the business world, commitment to social and environmental responsibility, and active participation in art and education initiatives in the Americas. 

Previous award winners include Cesar Alierta, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Gustavo A. Cisneros, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Carlos Fuentes, Jorge Gerdau Johannpeter, Enrique Iglesias, Muhtar Kent, Andronico Luksic, Thomas F. McLarty III, Manuel Medina-Mora, Javier Perez de Cuellar, Patricipa Phelps de Cisneros, William Rhodes, David Rockefeller, Julio Mario Santo Domingo, Roberto Egydio Setubal, Mario Vargas Llosa, Paul Volcker, Lorenzo H. Zambrano, and Ernesto Zedillo, among others.
