Environmentalist art focused on the origin of the human being

Respect for nature and life was the source of inspiration for the artist from La Paz to conceive the show "Kyanos", at Artespacio, CAF's art gallery in La Paz, starting on June 22nd. The show includes 400 pieces of seven kinds of trees from La Paz and Santa Cruz, recycled by the artist herself.     

loRini explained, "With my work I want to invite people to reflect on environmental issues, show that material things are not important. This show is inspired by the cyanobacteria, a unicellular organism which originated every living being. I want people to be able to contemplate their own existence, get rid of material things, and meditate about what is really necessary, a return to the natural principle".  

Kyanos was built mainly with organic materials. "I experiment with textures and develop three-dimensionality over bi-dimensional supports" reflects loRini, and emphasizes that the show allows her "to play with space, shapes, light, and even sound, achieving a mix that makes the visitor feel the essence of natural beauty, of what is biological, nature itself, the origin of every living being. I want to generate questioning about the opposition of what is natural with what is artificial, created by human intervention".  

The show may be visited at Artespacio CAF, located in Av. Arce Nº 2915, corner of Clavijo (San Jorge area),  from 09.00 to 12.00 and from 14.30 to 18.00. 

Information on the artist

daNiela loRini was born in La Paz. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA) at the Government's Headquarters. She has a Master's degree in Environment from the Universidad Nacional de Lanús and the Foro Latinoamericano de Ciencias Ambientales (FLACAM) (Latin American Forum on Environmental Sciences) in Buenos Aires, Argentina; in 2014 she obtained the Tenot Foundation scholarship in France. She has made countless shows in  Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Spain, France, and Ireland. Recently she was selected to show her work at the "Marta Traba" gallery in Sao Paulo, Brazil. loRini defines herself as an artist that respects and promotes respect toward nature through her art, which she characterizes as environmentalist. She uses recycled materials in her creative processes.
