First Trust Meeting

November 24, 2006

In recent years trusts have developed exponentially in Peru, taking a leading role in the financing of major projects such as Antamina in the late 1990s. They later become a key factor in the development of the energy sector, first in the development and expansion of projects for electricity generation and then in the financing of the Camisea project, which has seven trusts to guarantee its three stages. The transport infrastructure sector, stimulated by the concession process, has also made extensive use of trusts, especially for ports and airports, and inter-oceanic highways.

The objective of this "First Trust Meeting" is to stimulate development of trusts in Peru. CAF and La Fiduciaria, as financial institutions committed to national development, have taken the initiative to promote the use of trusts as a financing tool which has been shown to be an effective collaborator in the development of medium- and long-term infrastructure projects by creating viable conditions for investments around the country.

The distinguished panel of speakers includes Sergio Rodríguez Azuero, Colombian international consultant and specialist in the banking area.

The event to be held on Thursday November 23 in a Lima hotel is intended for participants from the public and private financial system. Persons interested in participating should contact 710-0660.
