CAF will reach 35% green financing in 2024

The key objective of the competition is too provide recognition of the best journalistic works published or distributed by social communication media (press, magazines, blogs, websites, radio and television) dedicated to the dissemination of economic culture in the Latin America region.
The third edition of the competition will consider work published between July 1st 2012 and February 15 2013, with a special focus on globalization and internationalization of the economy and its impact on Latin America.
The prizes for this current edition total $13,000, distributed as follows:
The second edition also features a prize for the best daily regional printed press and another for the best non daily printed, online or televised news. The panel will comprise journalists from prestigious regional and international media organizations (CNN, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Actualidad Economica, Cinco Días, El Comercio de Peru, Expansión, etc.), and directors of communication from participating firms and regional institutions like the O.A.S (Organization of American States). The 20 finalists will be announced in April and the prize ceremony will be held in June.
Previous editions
The presentation of the prizes for the second edition of competition was held in Bogota in June, 2012. The winners were journalist Maria Gabriela Ensinck with an article about conquering the base of the pyramid, published in Argentinian daily EL CRONISTA, and Bruno Galo, with a piece about start-ups in Brazil, published in Brazilian magazine ISTOÉ DINHEIRO.
Special mentions went to an article about the new economy in Brazil’s favela districts, by journalists Miriam Leitão and Valeria Maniero, published in Brazilian daily O GLOBO, and an article headed Negotiating a rocky path by Ana Cristina Camacho, published in Costa Rica’s EL FINANCIERO, in the daily press and non-daily press categories, respectively.
There was also recognition of the work carried out by two media organizations for their work promoting economic and entrepreneurial culture in Latin America. Peru’s El COMERCIO in the daily press category, was recognized for its role in developing a general daily press publication, along with REVISTA ENTREPRENEUR MEXICO, for its constant and innovative promotion of entrepreneurialism and its commitment to economic social and innovation-based projects.
Participants in the ceremony held in Bogota included the president of the Colombian Stock Exchange, Juan Pablo Córdoba, the executive vice president of CAF-Development Bank of Latin America, Luis Enrique Berrizbeitia, Santiago Iñiguez, dean of IE Business School and president of IE University, Ricardo Avila, director of economic daily Portafolio, and José Ignacio Cases, executive vice president of the CODERE Foundation. Gabriela Frías, economic journalist at CNN, led the event.
