( Caracas, January 6, 2010).- A new music center for Caracas is the objective of the competition for the preliminary design for the Simon Bolivar International Complex of Social Action for Music and its urban setting, organized jointly by CAF and the Venezuelan State Foundation for the National System of Youth and Children Orchestras (Fesnojiv). Interested parties can register on the web page www.concurso-ciasmsb.net from January 8 to 26.

The competition is for the best architectural design for a future music center to supplement the Center of Social Action for Music, the present headquarters of the youth orchestras located on Bulevar Amador Bendayán in Santa Rosa, Caracas.

The description and documentation for the competition are published on the www.concurso-ciasmsb.net website. Registration is open to Venezuelan architects or architecture firms which comply with the requirements detailed in the rules.

The System promoted by Fesnojiv is recognized internationally as a unique social program based on music training, worthy of being implemented in all nations of the world; especially in countries which want to reduce the levels of poverty, illiteracy, marginality and exclusion among their child and youth population.

In the Andean countries, the internationalization of programs which follow the Venezuelan model has been receiving funds and support from CAF since 2000.
