(Bogota, April 30, 2008).- A group of 97 young people formed the 7th graduation from the Cartagena Workshop School, which awarded diplomas in bricklaying, cooking, carpentry, welding, gardening and painting.

The Workshop Schools are educational institutions whose objective is to place excluded young people in the labor market, through training related to recovery of cultural heritage.

The workshops are offered in Bogota, Popayan and Mompox and are recognized by the Colombian National Apprenticeship Service (Sena). The program is financed by CAF, the Spanish International Cooperation Agency (AECI), and local institutions.

The Workshop Schools are part of the CAF Social Responsibility strategy, which aims to strengthen the capacities of low-income communities, particularly those that facilitate generation of financial culture and education for work, as a contribution to alleviating unstable living conditions.
