Opportunities for leadership and governance training in Ecuador

The programs will take place during six months starting in July, 2015, in the framework of the inter-institutional cooperation agreement between CAF and the Consortium of Universities: Universidad de Cuenca and the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral

In the framework of the inter-institutional cooperation agreement, with the objective of strengthening social leadership and public policy management in Ecuador, CAF, Development Bank of Latin America, and the Consortium of Universities: Universidad de Cuenca and the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (ESPOL), launched the programs "Liderazgo Transformacional" (Transformational Leadership) and "Gobernabilidad, Gerencia Politica y Gestion Publica" (Governance, Policy Management and Public Management), 2015 edition. 

The programs will take place during six months starting in July of 2015, and will be aimed at leaders of community organizations, of the civil society, of the public and private sectors, authorities from provincial, local, and parochial governments, and citizens in general. 

Transformation Leadership will take place in five cities: Cuenca, Loja, Macas, Guayaquil and Santa Elena, and will focus on generating leadership skills among participants, to enable them to transform the political and social realities in national, regional, provincial, municipal, or local spaces, focusing on sustainable development and equity. 

Governance, Policy Management and Public Management will contribute to the development of the capacities of participants by means of a set of elements that relate to the theories of governance, best practices in policy management, and the new public management. The program will take place in Loja, Cuenca, Guayaquil, Santa Elena and Ambato, intends to extend the notion of democratic values for the exercise of a responsible leadership with technical knowledge of the country's socio-economic situation.  

Thus, CAF continues to strengthen its agenda of institutional strengthening under the strategic vision of generating knowledge, creating local capacities, improving the design, management, and implementation of public policies, increasing the Institution's presence in these subjects, and promoting opportunities to support member countries.
