Partnerships for development and investment in Latin America

  • On an official visit to Spain CAF President Enrique García met with senior government officials and business leaders.
  • CAF and Ineco signed an agreement to carry out studies of the iron, airport, aviation, road and urban sectors to promote investment in infrastructure in Latin America.

(Madrid, May 30, 2012). During his official visit to Spain, Enrique García, president & CEO of CAF - development bank of Latin America - met with Secretary of State for Economy, Fernando Giménez Latorre, among other high-level government officials and business leaders and participated in the Ibero-American Meeting of Infrastructure Ministers.

The CAF president also signed a cooperation agreement with the president of Ineco (Transport Engineering and Consulting), Pablo Vásquez Vega, for a series of joint studies on the iron, airport, aviation, roads and urban sectors in Latin America.

During the signing García said "this initiative is part of CAF’s goal of strengthening relations between the two regions with the aim of creating the necessary conditions for Spanish companies to invest in Latin American countries in projects that favor the sustainable development of the region, mainly in the infrastructure sector."

Ineco - attached to the Ministry of Development – is owned by the leading promoters of transport infrastructure in Spain - Aena, Adif and Renfe. The company offers transport engineering and consulting solutions and has been at the forefront of national and international engineering activities, responding to the challenge of cutting edge technology for developing their businesses.
