Perú: CAF Workshop in IX Round of FTA Negotiations

The seminar Quality, Efficiency and Logistics for Conquering Markets: “Cases of Entrepreneurial Success in the Region on International Markets,” organized by PAC was held with the participation of 100 attendees from the IX Andean FTA Negotiating Round in Lima from April 18 to 22.

The event was transmitted by videoconference to Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, and three provincial cities in Peru: Arequipa, Trujillo and Huancayo. Aimed at the private sector, the workshop presented successful cases in international markets to motivate the agenda of the private sector beyond the FTA.

This is the ninth round of negotiations in which CAF is accompanying the Andean countries, supporting the Trade Capacity Building Group during the rounds and permanently in all four countries.

The successful cases presented in the seminar were: The Experience of Articulation and Quality Approach: Acoplásticos de Colombia, presentation by Special Projects Director Ana Rita Cárdenas; The Experience of Associativity, Effectiveness and Logistics Optimization: Civil Association Frío Aéreo of Peru, given by General Manager Andrés Vazquez; the Experience of Subcontracting and Market Development: Cuerotex SA de Ecuador, given by company President Juan Malo; and The Experience of Innovation and Market Knowledge: the Invertec group in the Chilean salmon industry, narrated by IGT General Manager Ivan Vera.
