The Atlantic Business Forum is a meeting of political, entrepreneurial, and academic leaders of the Atlantic Basin, held in Lisbon on June 4th and 5th, 2015. For the first time, this initiative, lead by former Spanish President Jose Maria Aznar, with the academic and intellectual support of the Johns Hopkins University, brought together important economic actors of a region that concentrates more than 30 percent of the world trade. This opportunity highlighted the creation of a space for trans-Atlantic economic cooperation which included the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Africa, to promote sustainable development, free trade, social equity, and how multilateral banks may play an important catalytic role for this purpose.
