Pope Francisco receives Enrique Garcia, CAF's Executive President, in a private audience

The audience enabled a fluent exchange of ideas about subjects that are relevant for Latin America and mainly about the challenges faced by the region in matters of equity, social inclusion, economic growth, and environmental sustainability

Yesterday, in a private audience, Pope Francisco received Enrique Garcia, Executive President of CAF, Development Bank of Latin America.  

The audience enabled a fluent exchange of ideas about subjects that are relevant for Latin America, and mainly regarding the challenges faced by the region on matters of equity, social inclusion, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. 

In this respect, the Pope was very interested in the programs that CAF develops in the region, as well as in all the other priority areas of the comprehensive agenda for growth and regional integration. 

At the end of the private audience, President Garcia expressed his satisfaction for the meeting and the reflections shared with Pope Francisco, as well as for the identification of possible areas for future cooperation for the promotion of mutual interest initiatives. 

Garcia stated, "It has been a great meeting, where we have exchanged impressions and reflected on subjects of mutual interest, essentially related to the current situation and the challenges and plans that Latin America must develop to achieve social inclusion and improve the quality of life of its people".
