During the event, the United States was considered as the starting point of the program, which consists in training and mobilizing a new generation of Argentinean political leaders. Rodrigo Zarazaga, Director of the CIAS, the main Jesuit think tank in Argentina, highlighted that the recognition granted to García represents the first recognition that the Center awards to a public figure, and thanked CAF's support for the Leadership and Political Analysis Program.

At the same time, García congratulated the young Argentinean leaders participating in the program for their public service vocation and for seeking spaces to develop tools and skills that will enable them to become the new generation of politicians focused on addressing and seeking the best solutions for the citizens of their country.

García highlighted, "For CAF it is key that its member countries may have public managers with a solid technical training, that know how to manage resources, understand the needs of the communities and their citizens, and act as effective links so that the State may address the social requirements. The successful management of the States depends on an efficient management of the institutions, therefore, it is important to support the training of young people who have a public service vocation, who may perform an effective role as public officials".

The event also included the participation of Reverend Nathan Wils, Leadership Director at the University of Notre Dame, and Christian Asinelli, CAF's Director of Institutional Development.

In his inaugural speech in the event, García analyzed the current socio-economic scenario in Latin America, and highlighted the need to have a new generation of politicians with strong democratic values and a wide vision regarding the continent, who understand the need to have solid and transparent institutions to benefit citizens.

During their stay, the young Argentinean leaders will attend classes on political and economic subjects in the international system, in addition to understanding the dynamics of the relationship between the United States and Latin America. In its academic vision, the University of Notre Dame gives a significant relevance to Latin American affairs, and follows the development of Latin America closely.
