Registration open for La Paz 3600 race 2011

(La Paz, October 24, 2011).- CAF - Latin American development bank - and the La Paz Autonomous Municipal Government (GAMLP), organizers of the third La Paz 3600 race, invite all professional and amateur athletes interested in taking part in this sports event to register before Thursday November 3.

The registration centers are:

• Obrajes Municipal Pool, (Av. Hernando Siles y 14 de Septiembre –zona de Obrajes- teléfono 2323045)
• Orkohauira Municipal Pool (Av. Pasoskanki s/n –zona Villa Copacabana- teléfono 2322272)
• Luis Lastra Sports Palace (final Presbítero Medina, zona Sopocachi, teléfono 2320963)
• Munaypata Sports Palace (Calle San José Desaguadero y Av. Naciones Unidas zona Munaypata, teléfono 2320688)

The competition - in which professional and amateur athletes - male and female - can participate, has five categories: high school students, under 35s, 36 to 45 group, over 45s, and people with special needs (wheelchairs), as well a new category for Special Olympics athletes who will compete in the final kilometer.

Sports fans who wish to compete in the third La Paz 3600 race can register for free on presentation of a photocopy of their birth certificate or identity card (original) and receive their race number.

The number of competitors on November 6 is expected to outdo last year’s race, which attracted more than 7,500 athletes and helped encourage physical activity in the department.
